Hi Mark,
Thanks for reaching out to JotForm Support. I'm sorry you're having trouble creating a Fillable PDF from your existing form. Keep in mind that you need to go to the Form's PDF Editor first before you can create a Fillable Version of that form. Let me show you how to do that:
- In My Forms page, select the form, click More and select Open PDF Editor.
- In PDF Editor, click on New PDF and select New PDF Form.
- In the dialogue box, select Use Form and click Continue on the next screen.
That's it. You'll have a Fillable PDF like below afterward:
You can also check out this guide about creating PDF Forms using PDF Editor.
Let us know if you need any more help.

Hi Mark,
I'm very sorry to hear that, and thanks for the Loom video. Unfortunately, it's not possible to create a Fillable PDF Form from an encrypted form. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
Meantime, you may consider disabling encryption on your form to be able to create a Fillable PDF from it. Let me show you how it's done:
- In Form Builder, click on Settings and select Form Settings in the Sidebar.
- Look for Encrypt Form Data and toggle it to No.
Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
