Issue starts on the following page of the form:

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 1 Screenshot 50

For Occupancy Type, If you select all but Vacant, the question: Are there any pets displays with the Pet requests being hidden.

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 2 Screenshot 61

If you select, Yes to 'Are there any pets?', the Pet Requests box shows. If you select no, the Pet Requests box remains hidden.

    Here's the problem:

How do I make the Pet Requests box go away when Vacant is selected and nothing should be showing?

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 4 Screenshot 83

This is a weird glitch that occurs if an end user accidentally hits occupied and hits yes

What happens is if the end user select occupied, tenant or other, and then selects Yes to are there any pets on the property, but then hits vacant, the Pet Request box does not leave when it should because the system, even though the field is hidden, still remembers the input when the input should not have been

    How do I fix?

    Hi Info_Realty,

Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it. Check the steps and screenshot below on how to hide the Pet Requests field, when Vacant is selected.

    1. In Form Builder, unhide the Pet Requests field.
    2. Disable the Show/Hide Field condition that shows the Pet Requests field when the answer to 'Are there any pets on the property' is Yes.
    3. Then create the below Show/Hide Field conditions:
*Hide the Pet Requests field when No and Unsure is selected in the 'Are there any pets on the property' field.
*Hide the Pet Requests field if the 'Are there any pets on the property' field is empty.

That's it. Here's the form once you made the changes:

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I have followed your instructions, and unfortunately, you had me take more steps to achieve the same result I had. What you showed me in your video, was the EXACT same results as I had, the true test was hitting Vacant whereby the Pet Request box did not show.

Please advise me of the proper logic so this does not happen - surely this is not a software glitch???

The above screenshot is with following your instructions above with your logic - the same problem still exists, but wanted to make sure that you understood that that screenshot is the one taken after I made your changes.

    Please advise what to do.

    Hi Info_Realty,

Thanks for getting back to us. I cloned your form and tried to replicate the issue, the Pet Requests field doesn't show up when Vacant is selected. Check out my result in the screenshot below:

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 1 Screenshot 20

    Try the steps below:

    1. Delete the duplicate condition you created for the answers No and Unsure.
    2. Then clear your form's cache.
    3. Once you've cleared your form's cache, record your screen whilst you test your form using an incognito browser. If the issue still happens using an incognito browser, include the recording in your reply.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Yes, that is because God helped me figure out the following logic condition (look at the third box below) in addition to your logic suggestions:

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 1 Screenshot 20I tried to add my original logic back and disable yours to see if it worked with my new logic addition (the 'Are there any pets on the property' is Yes - Show Pet Requests), but it didn't. I can't figure out in my head why yet other than for logic group sets, stick with either show or hide and not both or a mixture which is kinda dumb logic on my part.

But basically I had to 'pretend' like 'Are there any pets on the property' was a displaying field, even though it wasn't, because Vacant was selected. Can you ask your developers about this? I think this is a lot of a workaround for something that should be pretty standard for form creation.

    Hi Info_Realty,

We're very sorry you're still having trouble with this. Before we escalate it to our developers, I tried to simplify your condition using the ones below. Can you remove/disable your existing conditions related to occupancy and pet request and replace them with the conditions below?

It should work like this afterward:

You can also test my cloned form here first before applyng changes to your form.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

    Sonnfer,

Please forward to your developers as your solution does not work. I cloned my form and tested your logic, but it results in the same problem that I originally submitted a ticket for. URL below.

    https://form.jotform.com/241310376629152

The problem, as you can see below in my screenshot, is the same one I submitted a ticket for in the beginning which revolves around selecting the vacant occupancy and still having the Pet Request box display when it should be hidden.

God helped me figure out this solution that works (pasted below) but, in my opinion, this is a major hassle that should be fixed by your developers - I have used several form building websites and quite frankly, have never had the issue I have had with Jotform. Please forward to your developers.

    Hi Info_Realty,

Thanks for getting back to us. I figured out the steps you're taking to get the issue you indicated. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 1 Screenshot 40 There is an easy fix for this, we just need to set the Clear Hidden Field Values option to Clear When Hidden in your form's settings. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.
    2. Click the Show More Options button.
    3. You will have to scroll down and look for the Clear Hidden Field Values option.
    4. Finally, select the Clear When Hidden from the dropdown, and that’s it!

    Ericson_B,

Thank you! This is EXACTLY what I needed and has solved all my issues. However, because I did have to spend so many hours of this with multiple support tickets (not just this thread), I would ask if you would forward to your developers to have the field input clear when hidden by default.

Show Condition is Not Working Properly with Single Choice Image 1 Screenshot 20

The current default of 'Clear when submitted' breaks the Back and Next Buttons when it pertain to Skip/Hide Page Conditional Logic so irreparably, it makes my suggestion worthy of deliberation.

    Thank you again!

    Hi Info_Realty,

Thanks for getting back to us. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developers. When or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience, we appreciate it.
