Hello @singlestraveservice,
I am Ozlem from Payment Integrations Team. Thank you for reporting this issue to us.
According to my investigations, it is not possible to set a negative amount to PayPal product. We just set product information to PayPal and total is calculated total on PayPal side (by PayPal). This is the PayPal's workflow.
If we calculate total on our side and set total amount directly to PayPal, we will lose other item based information. Unfortunately, the change that you requested affects all other PayPal users.
On the other hand, I fixed the error below:
PayPal Checkout - Please try again.
Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.
When customer selects a product which is under zero, PayPal returns this error. I prevented to send a negative amount to PayPal side.
Please use Coupons to make discount (as my colleague suggested).
