Linking Bank Account instead of Paypal

Currently we link our forms to our Paypal account, in an effort to avoid paypal fees we'd like to switch to have payments made directly to our bank account. Is this possible, what are the advantages and disadvantages, for example will we be able to take credit card payments? What fees are associated with linking to our bank checking account?
