I want a number 1 to be downloaded to my excel spreadsheet, so I tried to put a simple 2-1= that didn't work, tried to put a 1 value in but that didn't work either. What do I do?

Could you please provide the form URL you're referring to and field which you would like to pass to the spreadsheet.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Do you want to show Calculation values inside of the Excel file instead of the field options?

To achieve that you will have to add a Form Calculation widget to your form and set the "Events to enter" fields inside of the Form Calculation widget as String (A-Z), like this.

You will then have to separate columns inside of the Excel file, one with field options and one with the calculation values. You can also remove "Events to enter" column from the Excel file.

Feel free to test it and clone it

If you want to perform a calculation with assigned values, set the "Events to enter" fields inside of the Form Calculation widget as Number (0-9).

When a person selects 0ne or more fields, I just want the download to excell to show just a mark of some sort to show up as the download is going  on a form which allows only  one space for an answer.  Is this possible?

I'm sorry but I do not understand your request. Can you please explain in more details what exactly are you trying to achieve and provide us an example of what you want to see for that field inside of an Excel report. If possible provide us a screenshot as well.
