How can I change the page composition of my form to be more compact?

I built a form that is fairly complicated, and multiple pages. My client likes to print these out, but with each question on its own line, there is much dead space, so they'd like to reduce the number of pages. Is there a way to reconfigure the form composition to reduce space? I would like to get multiple questions on one line.

I thought about using tables to condense everything, but taking info from the cells within the tables will make things complicated for email generation, and things like drop-downs would go away.

It's possible to reduce the vertical spacing between fields, here is a guide that will help you doing so: https://www.jotform.com/help/156-How-to-Reduce-Vertical-Spacing-Between-Fields

You may also displays fields inline so they take less space, this guide will help you doing so: https://www.jotform.com/help/90-Form-Field-Positioning
