Hi, I am using the element below to collect numbers of boys and girls in a class...

I want the report to show total numbers of boys and girls not number of submissions? For example this form has been submitted 4 times (see below) but the totals are much more, see second image below.

You can integrate your form with Google Sheets and perform the calculation there.
