I use Integromat to populate the word file using this method:

Can I still use Apsona with this method?

I think that will work, pass the download link or image direct link for the image and then lift the privacy settings in your account, which require log-in to review files, here is the link: https://www.jotform.com/myaccount/settings.

I have managed to upload the image (with the form) to the dropbox folder that also keeps the word template. But each submission creates a new image file with a different name, so I cannot link it in Word. How can I upload the image to dropbox with a static name, which will be overwritten in each submission?

Ideally, I would prefer to retrieve the image file with a download link without uploading to dropbox but I cannot find a download link..

Unfortunately, there is no option for that when using the Upload field on the form. There is no means to customize or rename the uploaded file name on the form.

The most that can be achieved is to customize the folder name in Dropbox integration.

Do you want to retrieve image files with the download link in Integromat integration or simply for downloading them? If you want to receive links to uploaded files, you can set up Email notifications that will also include links to those uploaded files:
