Change name form attachments

    Hello!

    I would like to be able to name the attachments (images & videos) that the submitter adds to the form. Currently, I have connected Jotform with Google Drive, so all the attachments gets added automatically when a form is submitted.

    However, the names don't give out any info from the form.. I would like the images to get named after form fields.

    • Do you have a solution to this?

    Is there any widget I can use to get this feature? Either image uploading widgets or something that can change the name of the uploads?

    I was looking a bit at this one;

    https://uploadcare.com/

    • Or maybe it is possible to add in CSS code to name the files after a specific form field?

    I have found a possible solution;

    To use Microsoft Flow but I have not tried it out yet, was wondering if there is a simpler way.

    Best,

    Karin S

    Greetings,

    Thanks for contacting us.

    So I assume that you would like to rename all the files that the submitters are uploading into your form. Microsoft Power Automateis good to collect the files, but I am not sure if the solution explained in this thread: https://www.jotform.com/answers/2036572-File-Upload-option-to-rename-the-file-name-uploaded-on-the-form is actually the solution that you are looking for to rename files, but more to change the path of where you want to keep the files.

    Also with other integration such as Dropbox, Google drive, unfortunately, it is currently not possible to rename the files uploaded in form. I would suggest you please ask your user to upload a file name with the proper naming convention.

    You can also add "Random Value Generator" widget in a form that can be configured to generate a unique number and display it in the form. You can ask the user to manually add the value generated by the widget to add it in the file name before uploading.

    If you would like to set Unique IDs on the folder, you can also do that using this guide: http://www.jotform.com/help/255-How-to-setup-folders-using-UniqueID-in-Dropbox.

    Hope this helps.

    Do get back to us if you have any questions.
