Hi, I want to keep track of assets by location.
Each asset is barcoded; the form includes the barcode scanner, and a drop-down box for location. This data is collected to a table.
For example
24/01/2021 #1221 - Truck 1
24/01/2021 #1232 - Truck 2
24/01/2021 #1206 - Truck 325/01/2021 #1221 - Truck 2
25/01/2021 #1232 - Truck 3I want the table to only show the most recent entry for that serial number, and remove all older entries; in the instance above, I would see:
#1221 - Truck 2
#1232 - Truck 3
#1206 - Truck 3(this can be multiple sheets on the same table)
**The ideal situation is that once the barcode is scanned, the form references the table and will display the current location; this can then be updated - I have no idea whether Jotform is able to do this.
Any thoughts on either solution would be greatly appreciated.
If you need more info, let me know. -

Hello There!
Thank you for your message.
At the moment you can create a filter in your table, so you can hide the unnecessary fields.

Thank you; but I cannot find how to filter duplicate entries.
(I want to see the latest occurrence of each serial number and remove / hide all older / duplicate entries. As far as I can tell, your suggestion will show me all of the duplicate entries for a serial number at once)

You can click on a table column's dropdown and select either Ascending or Descending to re-order the filtered submission to your liking.
Please do give it a try and let us know if you need further assistance.

Once again, I understand how to sort ascending and descending, but I am asking how to filter duplicate entries.
This form has 2 columns : day and number
For the sake of simplicity, duplicate days show a number 2.Friday 1
Tuesday 1
Friday 2
Wednesday 1
Tuesday 2
Monday 1If I sort the data ascending, it appears like this:
Friday 1
Friday 2
Monday 1
Tuesday 1
Tuesday 2
Wednesday 1(I can create a similar list with a descending sort)
I want to FILTER the data, so it removes any duplicates.
I want it to look like this:
Friday 1
Tuesday 1
Wednesday 1
Monday 1(It has removed the second duplicate entry)
Friday 2
Wednesday 1
Tuesday 2
Monday 1(this would also be fine - this time it has removed the first duplicate entry)
Please can you explain how I achieve this?
Thank you. -

Hello,
Thank you for the example.
I am not aware of a way to do this directly on the Table at the moment (please note that the product is still young and our developers are adding new features on a regular basis).
Excel and Google Sheets are capable of this natively, and on our end, we have tools that would remove (not filter) duplicate entries: https://eu.jotform.com/apps/duplicate-submissions-terminator
This app will have a top to bottom approach and will remove the oldest duplicate data.
Just to keep you safe, I would recommend you back-up your submissions by downloading them firsthand as an Excel File for instance, so if things are not working exactly as you wanted to, you will always have your data: https://www.jotform.com/help/44-how-to-export-form-data-to-excel
Hope this helps.
