JotForm Form Builder: The User Wants The Random Value Generator to Create Unique Values Across All Forms

If we use the Random Value Generator to generate a unique random ID for our forms - will it generate a random number across multiple different forms in the account? I know Unique ID does not work because it does not generate unique ID across multiple forms in data entry we would end up with multiple entries from different forms with the same Unique ID.

Good day, the Random Value generator will only generate a unique value on the form where the widget is located. It will check uniqueness only on its form.

Let us know if you have more questions.

I see. That is not helpful at all for a system to integrate or process various intakes. what do you recommend for this issue - we have multiple forms but need each entry from any form to be unique so that each patient (no matter what form they fill) can be identified uniquely.

    What do you recommend ?

For jotform tables, if each table is connected to a separate form and we want a master form that has inputs from multiple forms or multiple tables - how can we do that?
for ex, connect two tables so an entry from a form in one table will automatically generate an entry in the master form. I tried to do the option where I add a column to “connect another table” but that only creates blank cells where I have to manually select an entry from the connect column of another table.
    appreciate your help

    Greetings,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to merge two form's tables within the same tab. However, perhaps you may want to try adding a column which enables you to select data from another form within the same tab. Kindly check out feature #3 in the guide below:

    https://www.jotform.com/blog/advanced-jotform-tables-features

I hope that helps, let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards.

Oh man that really sucks. It would be so helpful and just intuitive to have that where all intake form data from various tables and come into 1 table. Like the import range function in google sheets.

is there anything like that in the works or can you submit it to the people who create these things? It’s not useful to see information in bits/pieces - having a master table with the ability to bring over entries automatically would be great!

Hi, thank you for getting back to us.

As my colleagues advised, it is not currently possible to merge all your tables into one master table. However, you can merge all form submissions and export them as a CSV file using our Combine Submissions App.

    App link: https://www.jotform.com/integrations/combine-submissions

Please check if this fits your requirements.

    Thank you.

    Hi @PARTH PATEL,

    Thanks for reaching us.

We do apologize for the inconvenience.

For your issue on the "Random Value Generator", I elevated your ticket as a feature request for the widget to generate a unique number across multiple different forms. Please keep in mind that there's no assurance whether this will be implemented. It will highly depend on the viability of the feature, the number of similar requests we get, along with the workload of our Developers. We can't give you any timeframe but we'll keep you apprised on this same thread if there's an update

Meanwhile, I can suggest you using the "Unique ID" widget and changing the Prefix of Unique IDs for each form. I have cloned your "CounselMD - Plan A Test Form" form to show you the steps. And for your information, nothing has been changed on your original form. I see you already added a Unique ID Generator widget to your form. Please see the steps and the screencasts to apply the workaround to your forms.

    1. Click the gear icon next to the Unique ID widget on your form to open its properties.
    2. You will see the "Prefix" section. Enter letters or numbers of your choosing that will be unique to this form. For example; I have entered A since the form name is Plan A Test Form.

And when someone fills the form, a unique id will be generated with the letter A at the beginning of the id. Please see the screencast below:

For another form you can change the prefix and when you are combining and editing data of your different forms each patient will have a unique number.

Hope this workaround is helpful for you.

For your inquiry on a master table that can include all of your forms data, I have moved your inquiry to another thread since it is unrelated to this widget title. Please find the link to the thread below:
