Once someone submits our form, they get an email confirmation showing all the information relating to their submission. It is very random when they receive it: sometimes it can be right away, other times it can be an hour, and there are even a few instances when the person did not receive the confirmation until the next day.
Is there a reason why this happens or is there something I can change on the form to send the email right away?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I checked the username you used on this thread but I did not find existing form under the account. I assume you must be referring to a different account form. But we need to confirm that we are checking the correct form and account for issue.
On the case of delayed arrival of email, the usual cause of this is usually on the side of the client's email. Form submissions email do get queued on the outgoing email server, but this is only very brief and can only take a second.
You can also now check the email activity of the form submissions in the E-mail History page in your account. Check this user guide

Jotform does send emails instantly. So far I never encountered this issue on my end. Perhaps it is something you need to consider checking with your email service provider.
You can also monitor your email history on your account settings as also suggested by my colleague. https://www.jotform.com/help/293-How-to-view-all-your-form-Email-History. On the right side part, you will see the date and time delivery of the email. You can match it with the delayed notifications you received on your email.
