I have an email alert set up so that when people submit a form, they get an automatic response with the information they submitted. However, the automatic response is not actually being sent.

Was it working before and suddenly stop working today? Because we have a temporary problem with our default email sending method, so we switched methods. It should be resolved soon and we will go back to the default method.
You can try using your own SMTP server if you need an urgent solution:
