I have the following prefill:
https://www.jotform.com/build/230313984085154/publish/prefill
using a form that also includes images uploaded by the artist.
PROBLEM:
The original upload field is not showing up as a mappable prefill field. How do I enable the prefill of the images uploaded in addition to the rest of the fields?
I tried using a simple approach of just generating manually the edit link but for some reason, it looks like this:
https://www.jotform.com/edit/5454742780354690089
Which looks nothing like it would had the 'edit submission' link been in the autoresponder email.
Ideally, I want to use the simple edit link and not the prefill. Is there a way to do that so that it renders like it would had the edit link been in the original autoresponder email?

Hi David,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, the File Upload fields cannot be prefilled using the Jotform Prefill feature. The {edit_link} is working well in the created Autoresponder Email. Take a look at the screenshot below to see my results:
Can you explain more so I can better understand what you want to achieve in the Autoresponder Email? Are you perhaps referring to the same text format you see in the default Notification Email for the edit submission?
If this is the case, you can add this {edit_submission} in your Autoresponder email to display the "edit this submission" link.
Give it a try and let us know if you need more help.

I don't want to use an autoresponder email, I was just using that as an example.
My users have submitted a form which included their uploaded artwork.
We did NOT send autoresponder emails with edit links.
We now need them to review their submissions.
I edited the form to add the get page URL widget, I added some new questions, I hid some fields, and I used some conditional logic.
I want to send the users, via my own email, an edit submission link to the edited form so that they can provide the updates needed. HOWEVER, it is critical to have the images show up on the form, just as they would had I sent the edit link in the autoresponder email. If they received the link in an autoresponder and clicked it to edit, the images would be there.
That is what I am trying to do.
Thanks!

Hi David,
Thank you for getting back to us. Unfortunately, the Upload form field is currently not supported in prefill. If you want to review the submissions, I suggest you add a notification email to your form for you to receive email from the user when they create a submission. You can review the submission in the email that will be sent to you as it can contain the answers of the user. Let me show you how:
- In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page, click on Settings.
- In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Emails.
- Now, click on + Add an Email.
- Select Notification Email.
- Click on the Recipients tab.
- Now, just enter your email address into the Recipient Email field. That's it. You're done.
Now, you'll get a Notification Email every time someone fills out your form.
Give it a try and let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

For Example -
If I try to MANULLY create an edit link from a previous submission, where we DID NOT send an autoresponder with an edit link for the original submission, it looks like this:
https://www.jotform.com/edit/5456663349417262493
Which, if you notice, it actually doesn't link to the form, but instead, seems to render the fields in the submission table. This isn't what I want.
However, if I add an autoresponder with an edit link to this same form, create a new submission, and then send a MANUALLY created link to the submitter because they lost their email with the link, it works fine:
https://www.jotform.com/edit/5510714449022274583
I want these submissions:
https://www.jotform.com/tables/222776444379165/230095353379056
to have edit links that render like this one:
https://www.jotform.com/edit/5510714449022274583
and NOT this:
https://www.jotform.com/edit/5456663349417262493

These edit links are the same but they do different things and I don't get why that is.
Is it because we didn't send an autoresponder with the original submissions?
Also, I need to work with the original submissions so 'adding an autoresponder' at this point will not solve the problem.
It feels like a programming oversight. An autoresponder with an edit submission link should not be required for an edit submission link to work. And, it most certainly should not render a random page from the submission table.
Hopefully these messages have cleared things up for you?

Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to us. The submission IDs in your edit links are from two different forms which is why they do not look the same. The submission ID 5456663349417262493 is from the Final Selected Hearts Database 2023 form while the submission ID 5510714449022274583 is from the Parade of Hearts 2023 Heart Artwork Submission form.
It is not possible to use the form design of "Parade of Hearts 2023 Heart Artwork Submission" form when the submissions from the "Final Selected Hearts Database 2023" form is edited.
What you are trying to achieve is possible if you use the Table Prefill feature on the Parade of Hearts 2023 Heart Artwork Submission form. The only thing that you cannot do is Prefill the File Uploads fields. We do not have a feature that can prefill or prepopulate the File Upload field due to the security context issues and sandboxes that are implemented to prevent websites from accessing your local files.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.
