We were hoping that the ability to collaborate would help use solve our very big problem that standard accounts are single user accounts. But although we started by making our forms from our previously used Fillable PDFs, we are not longer using the orignal PDF because that methods does not support multi langauages.

So our forms no longer have the connection to the original PDFs, but we are not able to collaborate.

We like Jotforms features, but we are running into one road block after another as we try to adapt to online forms on this platform.

    Hi DhammaReg,

We understand your sentiment on this matter. My colleague Lorenz already raised this on another thread here as a feature request to our Developers to see if Form Collaboration could be added to Smart PDF Forms. Once there are updates about the Smart PDF Forms being able to be converted to a regular form or the Form Collaboration feature being implemented on Smart PDF Forms, we'll be sure to notify you on the respective threads.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Yes, T do have more questions now.

After the chat with Lorenz who opened these two semi-related tickets, I looked for any information about the differences between smart PDF forms and regular forms. But the little I found was rather confusing. The page I read about Smart Forms seemed to imply that conditionals (hide/show) items were a feature of Smart Forms.

But I just made a new test form and conditionals were possible. So now I'm confused about the differences.

Please could you give me a brief summary of the differences between Smart Forms and Regular Forms.

Also, if we created a Form from a PDF and then later, removed ALL connections to the original PDF and removed it as an option in the PDF editor, Would there be ANY differences between that form and a Regular Form.

    Thanks

    Jim

    Hello Jim,

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, you can apply conditions to Smart Form PDFs and regular forms.

The main difference is a regular form is built from our platform directly and a Smart form is built from a PDF document, so some functionalities might not work on the Smart Form. But regarding the conditions, they work on both.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Jim,

Yes, if you disconnect the original PDF from the online form, it will work as a regular form but you can still reconnect it with the original PDF in the future. However, upon testing, removing the connection still does not enable the Form Collaboration feature.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

That is really inconvenient at Form Collaboration is not enabled when that happens. But there is another ticket about that. I will comment further there.

Many thanks for the helpful reply/
