Option to automatically rename the uploaded file after submission

So when a client uploads an image to a form, is it possible to automatically name the uploaded file the name that they submit in the form? So if Jane Doe uploads a photo, it will automatically be named Jade_Doe.jpg in drop box?

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, we don't have a functionality that allows you to change the file name of the uploaded files. As of right now, you can only update it manually as a form owner by editing the submission and re-uploading the renamed file.

Thank you for your reply. I believe this is possible with Dropbox. I found this user documentation on their website. We do have an integration with Dropbox so that your submissions or uploaded files will be sent to Dropbox. Kindly refer to this user guide.

Thank you for the info. But that option allows to manually change the file name. I would it to automatically occur. Currently, my files only have the submitters name. I'd like them to also have the name of the form they are submitting.

Unfortunately, we don't have an option yet to automatically rename the uploaded file of a user to a default filename format. Dropbox also doesn't seem to have an option to automatically rename the file. But I have forwarded this as a feature request to our backend team to see if the ability to automatically rename the uploaded files can be implemented.

Just note that when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
