But then I also notice the spreadsheet has an unexpected column called "Last Update Date," which doesn't record anything from the form itself. So I don't know what to make of it.

    Hello Rich,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The 'Last Update Date' is for the data when the submission is edited. You might want to reset your Jotform tables to its default view so that only the fields in your form will show. We have a guide about How to Reset Jotform Tables to Its Default View that you can check out.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I reset the table, but the badge did not return to normal. It still displays 1 as unread.

    Hello Rich,

Thanks for getting back to us. You may need to mark your form as read so that the badge will return to normal. Let me show you how:

    1. In your My Forms Page, select your Form and click More.
    2. After that, click Mark All as Read.

Thank you. That fixed it. I scrolled through the whole list of submissions
multiple times and didn't see one that I hadn't read. But your tip helped.
