App that can Collect Data and Orders

Asked on May 27, 2023 at 3:48 PM

I want to create a spreadsheet/database of vendors at an event, and then list the products of each vendor. I want the to then create an "App" that I can distribute to attendees which has the ability to show the various vendors and their related products.

Possibly the attendees can also enter in information, questions or orders?

Is this something doable with JotForm?

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. You only need to develop a form or forms where your attendees can enter information, ask questions, and place orders and then insert those forms into your app.

While I appreciate the response, I want to create an app that has data in it already, i.e. 30 Vendors and 5 products per vendor. I then want the user of the app, the attendee to be able to see all that information and possibly take notes, favorite some, etc.

    Hello Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. Upon testing your requirements, it appears that you need to create a multiple-product list to collect orders in your form. Alternatively, if you want to redirect your app users to different vendors' forms, you will need to add the 30 forms to your app. When the user clicks on a form, they will be redirected to the specific vendor's form. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

For each form, you will need to create a product list that contains the specific products for that vendor.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

We still are far apart on my question,
I have a form/tablke that has data, can the date be viewed in the app, right now it (the app) only appears to show the blank form, not the data, that is what I really need

    Hello Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. Please share more details about what you're trying to achieve; it'll help if you can share a screenshot of how you want the app to look. Also, since you mentioned you already have a form/table that you want to be displayed inside the app, please share the URL of the form or table you're referring to and the URL of the app that does not display the form/app as expected.

Once we have a better idea of what’s going on, we’ll be able to come up with a solution.

This is something to start with, but I have this form, <https:>> it is blank, but it has created a table with multiple entries, is there anyway to see the entries from a shared app, possibly only showing a few ion the fields,
I want to do this for other event types as well, but I need to create the “app” which actually shares the date from the tables as opposed to an “app” that just is fillable and creates another line item in a table that only I can see
    Thank you for your persistence

    Hello Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. If you already have a Submission Table that you wish to display on the app, you can use the Table element from the App Builder, let me show you how to do it:

    1. Open the Jotform App Builder.
    2. Open the App Elements menu.
    3. Select Tables.
    4. Choose the Submission Table that you wish to be added to the app.
    5. Click on the ADD button. App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 1 Screenshot 20

Give it a try, and let us know if you need any more help.

Wow, so much closer, now, within that table, I only want to display, certain fields from the entire table, I created another Tab, selected some fields, also to display as a card <https:>>, which is great, but it also shows the other table in its entirety, is it possible to only display the “cards”, and if so, somehow the top field “name” is showing and I did not display it

I found where it selects the name field by default and switched it too another field, Band Name, and deselected that as a field from the list.
Still working only showing just one of the forms/tabs, is there a way to select them, also, when I view on my phone, it seems that I can still click the 3 dots in the TAB and view the form, is there a way to turn that off
    Thank you!

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. I just want to know if you want to show the card form you have in your apps. If so, you can use our iFrame embed widget to do that. Let me show you how:

    1. In your App Builder, add the iFrame embed widget and open its properties.
    2. Copy the form URL link of your Card Form and paste it on the properties of the iFrame Embed Widget.App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 1 Screenshot 20

Now you'll be able to show the Card Form in your Apps.

That's it! Give it a try and let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

    Hello Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. If you only want to show selected columns, you can do so by updating the table views. Let me show you how:

    1. In your Submissions Table, click the three dots icon right beside the table name.
    2. Select Manage columns from the options list.App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 1 Screenshot 40
    3. In the modal, click to uncheck the column items on the left side to hide them on your table. App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 2 Screenshot 51
    4. Click Update button to save changes.

The items on the right side are the columns shown on your table.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I was actually addressing the ability when viewing the app, to see the submission page and enter info, I guess I need to lock submissions or say they are closed?

    Hi Scott,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry for having confusion on my end. Just to make sure we're on the same page, do you want to show the submission table in your apps without having a need to click on it to show it on another tab? If so, you can use the iFrame widget to do that. Let me show you how:

    1. In your Tables, click on Share and set the privacy settings to Public, and copy the URL link.App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 1 Screenshot 30
    2. Paste the link to your iFrame embed widget.App that can Collect Data and Orders Image 2 Screenshot 41

If this is not what you are trying to achieve, please let us know.

Give it a try and let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
