Is it possible to have an image count using the Upload field?Asked by snaplash on July 03, 2015 at 09:52 PM
Is it possible to count the images that a user uploads and place that number into a field?
I can create a hidden Image Count field, but is it possible to count the "multiple image" uploads and populate a field?
There are a max of 25 image uploads and I would also like to use all 25 fields even if the count is 21.
I am creating an automated video production system and need the image count to open and populate the correct template. ie 21.aep....
I'm afraid that our Conditional Logic can only detect if the Upload field is filled or not. It cannot detect how many files may be uploaded / added in the multiple file upload field.
As we do not have the feature you are describing at this time, you may want to add a Number or Spinner field into your form that asks your submitters to please select the number of files/images that they are uploading.
Alternatively, you could also set it up by using 25 separate single File upload fields, and about 50 conditions. You could set up the first 24 Conditions such that:
"If Upload 1 is filled, Show Upload 2", "If Upload 2 is filled, Show Upload 3", etc. So at any point in time, the user would have to have filled all Upload fields before the last one.
Knowing that, you would set up your following 25 Conditions such that:
"If Upload 1 is filled, update a value of the Spinner to 1", "If Upload 2 is filled, update a value of the Spinner to 2", etc. Then, you would use the number in the Spinner as your intended Image Count field.
I hope this helps.
I would still like this feature too, the ability to count how many files have been uploaded and populate a field with this number, to be able to use the number in other calculations.
I have submitted a feature request ticket to our higher team support about your suggestion to have capability to be able to count the number of items uploaded using the upload field.
Please take note that there is no set time frame as to when this will be work on, or it this could be included at all. The feature request will undergo deliberation before it can be work on.
In any case, you will be notified here for any news/update on the status of this request.
