Is it possible to reduce the 'width' of a text field (in this example, the text on page 2 that starts with 'Great!'), or in some other way create a round-cornered edge or line around it just wider than the margins of the centred text...and possibly also give it a slight transparent background colour so that when it appears it 'makes an entrance!'

This can be achieved by injecting custom css code
You would require to write the below css code:
#cid_48.form-input-wide {
border-radius: 25px;
background-color: #5BBBEB;
width: 438px;
height: 118px;
margin: 6px auto;
}
