Our payment form's "Subtotal" calculation field seems to be going to null after an error in the credit card payment. Any way to avoid that? This is affecting the "Total" field (which ends up being 0).

Since there is a hide condition rule in your form https://form.jotform.com/61667537533261 and the Clear Hidden Field values were set to ON, the hide action must be clearing the value of Subtotal field every time the form is submitted.
Please try set the Clear Hidden Field values to OFF. You can do this in Preferences / Advance settings.
