I want to create a form to track visitor coming in and going out. Is there a way I can put a check-in button and a check-out button on my form so that it will log the data of a visitors in and out time of the visitors on a single data line.

We have a widget that will allow you to capture the check in and check out dates in your form, here is the link: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/check_in_check_out

But both dates need to be entered at the same time if the field is required, if you need to get the check in date first, get the form submitted and then re-submit the form again entering the check out date then you will need to set the field as not required, but the check in date needs to be updated as well in order to re-activate the check out date at the moment of editing the submission.

In the widget's page you will find a demo form that you can clone and further inspect, this guide will help you to clone the form: How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

Additionally you could use the date time field, add one for the check in date and other for the check out date, the field could be submitted empty and then filled out when editing the submission.

    Hope this helps.
