Jotform’s Bases widget gives you the tools to convert numbers between different bases directly in your form. Users can enter a value and choose the base they want to convert to, making it easier to work with number systems without manual calculations.
Here are a few ways to use it:
- Convert numbers between bases such as binary, decimal, and hexadecimal.
- Let users select the base they want to convert into.
- Support quizzes or exercises involving number systems.
- Collect properly formatted numeric inputs.
Whether you’re creating a new form or updating an existing one, you can add and set up the Bases widget in a few easy steps. Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Now, in the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, search for Bases and click on it. Or, just drag and drop it to where you want it to be on your form.
- Next, in the Widget Settings window that opens on the right side of the page, under the General tab, set up these things:
- Radices/Bases — Specify the number bases available for conversion, separated by commas.
- Default Base/Radix — Choose the base that will be selected by default.
- Default Value — Set the starting value displayed in the widget.
- Once you’re done, click on Update.
That’s it. Now you’ve added and set up the Bases widget on your form.
