Jotform streamlines the way you present long text in your forms with the Remaining Reading Time Widget, which shows users an estimate of how much time they have left as they scroll through a block of content. This helps set expectations and keeps users informed while they read.
Here are a few ways to use it:
- Show estimated reading time for long text sections.
- Help users manage time while completing forms.
- Add time awareness to quizzes or instructions.
- Improve readability for content-heavy forms.
Whether you’re creating a new form or updating an existing one, you can add and set up the Remaining Reading Time widget in a few easy steps. Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Now, in the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, search for Remaining Reading Time and click on it. Or, just drag and drop it to where you want it to be on your form.
- Next, in the Widget Settings menu that opens on the right side of the page, under the General tab, you’ll see this list of settings you can configure:
- Title — Set the heading displayed above the reading time indicator.
- Text — Add the content where the reading time will be calculated and shown to users.
- Once you’re done, click on Update.
That’s it. You’ve successfully added and set up the Remaining Reading Time widget on your form.
