Jotform’s Top Choice Ranking widget lets you ask respondents to select a limited number of favorites from a longer list and then rank only those choices. It’s a simple way to collect clear preference data without requiring users to rank every option.
Here are a few ways to use it:
- Collect top program or course preferences.
- Let voters rank their favorite finalists.
- Prioritize workshops, sessions, or event activities.
- Gather hiring, team, or resource priorities.
- Capture respondents’ top choices from a longer list.
Whether you’re creating a new form or updating an existing one, you can add and set up the Top Ranking Choice widget in a few easy steps. Here’s how to do it:
- In Form Builder, click on Add Element on the left side of the page.
- Now, in the Form Elements menu, under the Widgets tab, search for Top Ranking Choice and click on it. Or, just drag and drop it to where you want it to be on your form.
- Next, in the Widget Settings menu that opens on the right side of the page, under the General tab, set up these things:
- Options to Rank — Enter the options respondents can choose from and rank.
- Maximum Ranked Choices — Select the maximum number of options respondents can include in their ranked list.
- Minimum Ranked Choices — Select the minimum number of options respondents must rank before submitting the form.
- Then, scroll down to the bottom and continue to set up these settings:
- Allow Tied Ranks — Toggle this on to allow multiple selected options to share the same rank.
- Saved Answer Format — Select how the ranked choices are stored in the form submission.
- Once everything’s set, click on Update.
That’s it. Now you’ve added and set up the Top Ranking Choice widget on your form.
