You can try using the email validator widget on your form in order for the email addresses be validated first before they get submitted to you: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/e-mail_validator
Another widget you can try is the XVerify widget. This requires however that you have an account with XVerify in order to use this widget. You can check out this widget here: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/xverify_email

No that's not what I mean.
When a user submits a form I want to send an automatic confirmation email stating that I have the users form and will get back to them. Is this possible in JotForm?

Yes, that is possible with setting up an autoresponder to your form.
