How can I share updates

Is it possible for the form recipient to post a reply or update on their form? This would act as a progress report so the person filling out the form knows if the recipient has completed the task or not. can this reply be sent via email to all the same people the form initially went out to?

Not sure if I understood your concern correctly. But if you want the recipients to update the submission, that can be done by providing them the edit link, here's a guide that you can refer to: https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date. 

If you want to re-send the notifications/autoresponder email once the submission is edited, then you can do that by enabling the "Send on Edit" under the "Advanced" tab.

You can also setup pages or sections in your form intended for the admin or recipients, where they can add their comments, notes or updates on that specific submission.
