The default French translation of the word "field" in the form warning "This field is required." is not correct

    Hello,

There is a translation typo in the french version for "field", which translates to "champ" in french ; there is no 's' except in the plural form.

Would you mind fixing it ?

    Thanks.

Hello @lbauer - Can you kindly point us exactly where the translation error is so we can have it fixed?

A screenshot of it would be extremely helpful. Just post the image here on your thread (please don't attach and reply via email) by following the guide I'm linking below.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I was not the creator of the form and it seems to be no longer available.

But as it seems to occur in any french form, I was able to find another one and reproduce the issue :

Please find the screenshot below :

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have tried creating a form with an account that is set to the French language and was able to see what you mean.

It seems that by default the French translation of the word "field" in the form warning "This field is required." is "champs".

But this is not the case for the other form warnings that also contains the word "field".

As an example, please see "Au moins un champ est requis" from the screenshot above.

I will be forwarding this to our developers. And although I cannot provide any timeframe to when it will be updated, please be assured that once it is already fixed, we will notify you in this thread.

    Hi,

    > It seems that by default the French translation of the word "field"

warning "This field is required." is "champs"
    > But this is not the case for the other form warnings that also contains the word "field".

I'm afraid you're being mistaken. The word "field" in french is always spelled "champ", without a 's' except in the plural form.
This is actually a common mistake that people, including a lot of native french speakers, sometimes do.

As a confirmation, you may find many usages of this word in the following translations website, including in computing context : http://www.wordreference.com/enfr/field (though they only use the plural form in this context, which might be a reason why some people get confused)

As this is obviously not a critical bug, I'm not expecting a quick fix, of course. But this should be quite easy to fix.

Anyway, thank you very much for your time.

    Best regards
