Conditions are not working

I have now created a clone and have used Calculation to determine the amount to be charged. Now, however, the conditions are not working properly and fields that are supposed to be hidden when No is selected as the answer to the question 'Will you be attending the Reunion?' are still visible. This will cause confusion.

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked the original form and it works as it should be:

Conditions are not working Image 1 Screenshot 40

I noticed that you added conditions for the number of ticket questions that trigger Your dietary issues and Your partner's dietary issues fields to be shown even if there is no option selected for the ticket question like the below condition:

Conditions are not working Image 2 Screenshot 51

The above condition works if there is no option selected in question How many tickets for the Dinner? Since no option meets the condition also. See the screencast below:

Conditions are not working Image 3 Screenshot 62

Could you try to check the conditions again regarding these two fields? You can share more details about what you want to achieve to help you further.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

An interesting dialogue is price comment. I feel that it is best to write more on this matter, it may not be a taboo topic however usually individuals are not enough to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers. MyKFCExperience

    Hi Mahmoud
Thanks for your response (although the screencast was too small and fast for me to follow all of the details).
I managed to get the form to work (almost - the Partner Dietary issues doesn’t appear if you don’t select 2 as the Quantity to the first question and you have to juggle the options to get Partner Dietary to appear). It’s doable even if a bit more clunky than I would like.
My problem has arisen because I want to use the coupon feature. I don’t want our guests to pay but I do want to gather their names, contact information and dietary issues. If I were selling ‘Products’ I could have used a coupon code so I set up a radio button to show the field for a coupon number and, if the coupon number was equal to one of two previously advised codes, the Calculation field would be varied.
What that has caused is for the M&G Calc and the Total Calc fields to revert to zero whatever code is entered.
I would have liked to use the Live Chat but it only pops up intermittently and, because it’s probably late over there, is no longer available.

    Form URL is: https://form.jotform.com/241171315833955

    Frank
PS - I still think that, in trying to avoid an infinitesimally small chance of confusing people by removing the option for a zero quantity, Jotform has created a monster. Please consider reinstating the zero quantity option for Products.

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you elaborate on what you intend to accomplish with the form? Do you mean to collect information just through the form and not allow clients to submit payments?

I also checked your form conditions, and there appears to be a conflict. If you are willing to provide a detailed description as well as the form fields that should be shown and hidden based on the choices, we can assist you in getting the form to operate properly.

I answered your question about Live Chat on a new thread. You can go ahead and check that out here. As for your last question, I've moved that to a new thread as well. You can check that out here.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to help you with this.

    Hi Ericson
I would like to allow people to register for one or both events associated with a reunion weekend. If they are members of the main group, I need to collect contact information, dietary issues and money from them.
If, however, they are a guest and will be attending the Dinner, there would be no charge but I still would like to know contact information and dietary issues. If a guest wishes to attend the Meet & Greet, they would be charged the same as others.
In order to implement this free option, I decided to mimic the Coupon feature of PayPal. I had been using the Products feature of PayPal but wasn’t able to differentiate between the products because of the (shortsighted) recent decision of Jotform to disallow zero quantities of Products. I only decided to change because someone who didn’t want to attend one of the events reached out to me and I hadn’t observed the minimum quantity of 1.
Yes, I am still peeved about this especially as the reason doesn’t stand up to any form of logic but, enough of my grizzling although it may force me to discard my many years (over 20) of loyal Jotform usage and look for something like GoogleForms.
    My workaround is as follows:
Create a pulldown question asking How many tickets for the Meet & Greet (options: 0, 1, 2)
Calculate the Meet & Greet cost using the Form Calculation Widget and calculating the number of tickets multiplied by the price
Create a pulldown question asking How many tickets for the Dinner (options: 0, 1, 2)
Calculate the Dinner cost using the Form Calculation Widget and calculating the number of tickets multiplied by the price
Use the Form Calculation Widget to add the two previous calculations as the Total Calc
Create a radio button asking if the user has a coupon
Create conditions that would multiply the Meet & Greet or Dinner tickets by zero if the correct coupon code was entered
Use PayPal to capture the Total Calc and apply that to the payment
There are various conditions to hide or show dietary issues, partner names and partner dietary issues.
The problem I am facing is that step 6 appears to overwrite the Meet & Greet calculation at step 2 and hence the Total Calc at Step 5 by making the amount zero as soon as Yes or No is selected. My intention was that No would result in no change while Yes would change 2 or 4 depending on the code entered.
In other troubleshooting, I have discovered that the Total Calc becomes zero as soon as anything is entered in the coupon number field, I can only reinstate the cost by reselecting the quantities for the Meet & Greet and the Dinner. The field at Step 7 would appear to be the culprit but I can’t work out why.
I still would like to use the same form for everyone so that they all appear in the Submission but it might be easier just to register our guests manually. This has already taken up about 5 hours of my weekend.
    Regards
    Frank

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for getting back to us. It seems there is a conflict with the insert conditions to perform their calculation for the coupon field. So my solution here is to set a separate coupon field for each item - one for the M&G calc, another separate coupon field for the Dinner Calc.

Let us know if you have more questions or need more help.
