Prevent multiple submissions

    Hello,

I have a form that asks for the email in registration. Ideally, I would like an automatic specific email to be sent if a user registers twice with the same email.

Ex : Vincent registers with vincent@mail.com. Comes back two weeks later and registers again with vincent@mail.com. Then an automatic email is sent that says "you are already registered".

Is it possible to make an automation for this ?

    thank you

    Hi FACoop,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Your form accepts multiple submissions by default. If you want to prevent your responders from making multiple submissions in your form, the Unique Submission will be helpful. You can check out this guide on How to Set Unique Submissions on a Form.

Now, if you want to limit the registration of an email address, you may want to check out this guide on How to Set Form Limits Based on a Unique Field. This feature allows you to set limits based on an answer from a specific field. For example, accept unique email addresses or prevent someone from submitting the same data on a Short Text Entry element. Let me show you how to add it to your form:

    1. In Form Builder, Navigate to Settings tab at the orange navigation bar.
    2. From Form Settings, Click the Show More Options button at the bottom.
    3. You will have to scroll down and look for the Unique Field option.
    4. Finally, please select the desired field from the dropdown, and that’s it! Prevent multiple submissions Image 1 Screenshot 30

Here's a screencast of the result:

You can also customize the warning message if you want to. Check out this guide on How to Change Form Warnings for more details.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
