Changes affect the URL?

Hi, we launched an order form, sent eblast to all our customers with the link, and one of our customers saved the link to their desktop for easy access.

Turns out that the link has changed, but I don't know why.  The customer was using the old link and their orders were coming in for the wrong products.

I suspect that at some point we probably edited the order form to add / remove item(s), but would simply editing the form cause a URL change??

I was wondering under what conditions does editing an existing form cause a URL change.

    Please let me know, thanks!

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. However, to investigate the issue we would need some more details.

Could you please provide us the form URL both the original one and the edit link?

Sometimes the edit link is saved in docx or somewhere else which causes the link to change. Also, Please be noted that whenever you create a form, it is associated with a domain based on the location from where you have logged in. So you should also change the domain in the edit link.

Let us know the form URL and How the customers are saving the edit URLs?

    Thanks.

I have made a test submission on your form (https://www.jotform.us/form/8214373758XXXX)

Could you please test below edit link if it is working for you?

    http://submit.jotform.us/form.php?formID=8214373758XXXX&sid=40963501965217XXXX&mode=edit

I'll get back to you with more testing on my cloned for.

    roneet,

Please see the response I made above starting with (Adding update)-

Our link apparently did not change, but if someone used the link previously and the form had been edited, those changes aren't reflected- the browser cache doesn't auto-refresh the form.  I don't know what needs to happen on a site that forces the page to reload on it's own.

I noticed that your form has a jotform.us domain in the URL and when I clicked on the edit link from email Id, the domain changed to jotform.com.

    Edit Link generated from mail:

    https://www.jotform.com/edit/40368978461136XXXX?utm_source=emailfooter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=8021289179XXXX&utm_content=edit_submissions&utm_campaign=notification_email_footer_submission_links&email_type=notification

    Form URL

    https://www.jotform.us/form/8220377258XXXX

I would suggest you change the default link of the edit_link. Instead of using the {edit_link} tag in your email notification template. You'll just need to edit the edit link format.

Replace the default link with the below:

    http://submit.jotform.us/form.php?formID=822037725XXXX&sid={id}&mode=edit

Green highlight: The domain for your form

    Yellow highlight: Your form ID

Blue highlight: This is the submission ID, however, if you want it to be auto-generated in your email notification, you'll need to use the tag {id}.

    I hope that helps.

    Roneet,

You are answering the other poster with links to their form, confusing me and our issue.  Please don't respond to thread hijackers and answer our issue instead of others.  Thanks.

Apologies for the confusion this may have caused.

As I understand the issue, you're sharing your form URL with your customers as provided by the publish wizard, then when you make changes to your form they are not reflecting and the user needs to clear the cache in order to see the updated version.

Unfortunately, there is not a current way to force the browser's cache to be cleared, although you can clear your forms cache from your JotForm account.

We may open a feature request for this if you want, although we cannot provide an ETA or ensure this will be implemented, we would keep you updated via this thread.

Let us know if you would like to open the feature request.

    Thanks.

    @Keith

I apologize for the form link that I provided there was some confusion with the above reply by a different user "klrbowling". He is also having the same issue. I have mistaken your name with him. So mistakenly I debugged his issue. I have split his question in a separate thread

I really apologize for my mistake.
