Clear check box after submission

    Here is my form: https://form.jotform.com/82246555184158

After the form is submitted, I want the user to be able to "edit" the form so they can reprint the "thank you page" which has actually been formatted as a printable form.

When they click the edit link from the email they are brought to the form to edit the contents.  I want the form to open in a locked mode so they don't accidentally make changes.  I've added two check boxes: edit, print.  Edit would open the form so they can make changes and print would keep the form locked and present them with a print button.  I'm trying to make sure changes are conscious and not accidental.

However, the check box selection is retained of course no matter what action they take.  If they return to the form, the check box is retained.  I want to clear those check boxes after either print or edit so that they can reprint or edit upon a second entry into the form.

    Is that possible?

If I understood correctly, you want to clear the radio button following field when the submission is edited.

    Unfortunately, that is not possible.

I saw that you customized the Thank You page of your form.

Maybe a better option would be to send them the content of the Thank You page via an Autoresponder Email.

You can also send your users a PDF report with submitted data via an Autoresponder Email.

Another option is to add a print button to your form.

As much as I love that idea, printing the email doesn't result in a pretty form. The email to/from fields and such are all present and it doesn't format like a proper business form.

As much I love THIS idea, your .pdf customization looks dreadful. If you compare my thank you page to your custom .pdf page, you can see I have generated a much nicer, cleaner, professional form. just try and modify your .pdf and you'll be extremely frustrated. It's not at all useful if you want a professional output.

    Print button on the form

Love it - but printing my form doesn't result in my AutoID being included because that Widget is a hidden field.

The purpose of my form is to collect information that will result in a professional-looking printed form. I'm sure this isn't uncommon with the Jotform audience.

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm afraid that we don't have other printing options aside what my colleague described.

    The initial problem you described:

"When they click the edit link from the email they are brought to the form to edit the contents.  I want the form to open in a locked mode so they don't accidentally make changes.  I've added two check boxes: edit, print.  Edit would open the form so they can make changes and print would keep the form locked and present them with a print button.

Is diable with conditional logic, you could add Get form page URL widget to your form:

And create a condition that will disable fields if the form is in edit mode (you can add additional condition here as well):

So with that setup, you could disable all fields and make form read-only.

Let us know if you have any further questions related.

    Thank you!
