How to receive email notifications for form progress?

    Hi

I will be developing a training course enrolment form.

It is quite a long form and therefore I will group the questions into sections.

I want to create a function/button that would be clicked by the student when a section is completed before allowing them to continue with the next section.

I want to be able to receive an email notification that would be triggered as each section complete button is clicked.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for your time

    Gavin

    Hello Gavin,

Email notifications can be only triggered on form submission. If you would like to receive email for every completed form section, I can suggest to create separate form for every section. Then, you can set up redirection from one form to another so when users click 'Submit' (can be renamed to 'Next'), they will be redirected to next form automatically and email is sent out to you.

Please review the following help articles:

Hi Victoria and thanks for the info.

Do you think that it would be possible to combine each of the forms (sections) together and print a single Enrolment Form that includes each of the sections?

Therefore for my records I could keep a single student enrolment form PDF or digital copy of PDF?

I was also thinking about another option that would depend on whether a form disengagement could trigger an automatic email notification to me.

If a form is not fully completed does the system keep the information submitted, up to that time, recorded?

    Thanks again

    Gavin

Upon reading your concern further, I think it would be possible using only one form. Please give me some time — I'll try to find a workaround and create a Sample Form. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I have now the Sample Form which is based on my understanding of your requirements.

Kindly test it and let us know if it will work for you — https://www.jotform.com/83491016491962

I also suggest that you clone the form so you can inspect it better.

    Hi Mike

Thanks for the form. I think that I understand how you have created the form and this could be somewhere to start from.

I worry that the conditional formatting in the background could become extremely complex very quickly due to the fact that I will also need some conditional formatting in the form anyway and this could create conditional formatting of already conditionally formatted information.

I will also need to integrate the form with Infusionsoft in the future.

In general to JotForms save information as it is entered regardless of the submit button being pressed? Or if a form is abandoned can an auto save function be triggered?

    Thanks

In general, there is another option to save form progress, a form can save user's sessions. But, it is not likely that email notifications will be sent for form progress.
