Square won't stay connected

    As the subject says, Square will not stay connected. I attempt a transaction and get the attached error message. Prior to this error, I simply got a blank screen.


    Please do not send me instructions on how to connect with Square, as I have already done that multiple times. First, it hung on "please wait," when I hit submit. Then, on the next several attempts, I submitted the form and got a blank screen. Now, I get the message illustrated in the attached screenshot.

    I have used several different methods to embed this form, including with one of your plugins as described in an article I found in your help section. On the link to the page I have attached, the top form is embedded using your plugin, and the bottom one is just via regular code.

    This is a huge, time-sensitive matter that needs to be resolved now. Please advise.

    Hi @crashcarpool!

    I have just checked your form and it is not connected to Square:

    Please click on the Connect with Square button to finish setting up the integration. If you have been connected to Square before and disconnected, I apologize, but we need to test the integration while it is connected with Square. Please make sure that your are connecting to Square in the appropriate mode: Live Mode for real payment processing and Test Mode for processing test credit cards. Let us know if the issue persists and we would be glad to help!

    Hi @crashcarpool!

    I would like to apologize for the inconvenience. I read your entire message before posting and not a single word of my reply was copied and pasted. I have made a clone of your form and tested the Square integration in test mode - it is working as expected.

    I apologize if it feels like we are giving you the replies you have read in other threads. But this is the type of troubleshooting we have to do before we can find what is causing this problem, as the most common reason for receiving the Square Payment Error   Access token is missing message is that the integration is not connected to Square. Upon checking your form I have noticed that your form is not connected to Square and provided a screenshot of your form.

    I have made test submissions on both of the embedded forms and have received the same error messages as you have. In order to resolve this issue, I propose to take the following steps using a browser different from the one you used previously:

    1. Leave only one form embedded on the webpage (I suggest using the iFrame embed method as found in this guide: Getting-the-Form-iFrame-Code).

    2. Remove the integration from the form by selecting the integration and clicking on the red Trash Can icon.

    3. Add the Square integration back to the form.

    4. set Mode to Live Mode.

    4. Click on Connect with Square.

    5. Click on Sign In in the Square login window.

    6. The black button from my screenshot should now say Connected!

    7. Only after the integration says Connected!, please perform a submission using a real credit card.

    8. If after performing the submissions you receive an error, or if the black button reverts to Connect with Square, please re-connect again and let us know so that we can try performing a submission while your Square integration is still connected.

    I hope the above steps resolve the issue. There might be an issue with Square integration processing subscriptions. At any rate, if the issue is not resolved and all other options are exhausted we will escalate it to our developers so that we can get this fixed.

    This form does not work. The form does not stay connected. Obviously I am aware it needs to be connected to Square. I connect it to Square. I test it. It hangs at "please wait" upon submission. 

    I repeat: I HAVE connected the form to Square. Repeatedly. The form IS connected to Square when I test it using a real credit card. Again, it hangs at "please wait" upon submission. When I go back to look at the form, which is what I imagine you're doing, it says Square is not connected, which is what you're reporting back. To summarize: 


    I connect the form to Square. 

    I test the form using a real credit card. 

    The form hangs at, "please wait." 

    I eventually give up and go back to the form, which is no longer connected to Square. 

    This really, really needs to be fixed.

    Hello @crashprojects - We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. However, I test submitted the form embedded on your https://compostcarpool.com/sign-up-for-compost-carpool/, but I was not able to replicate the issue.

    Kindly check for your form submissions page and look for my submission: How-to-View-Form-Submissions

    Here's what I did:
    1.) Opened your https://compostcarpool.com/sign-up-for-compost-carpool/: https://compostcarpool.com/sign-up-for-compost-carpool/
    2.) Submitted your form using my live debit/credit card
    3.) Since you mentioned that your square account disconnects automatically, I checked your form and I can see that your square account is still connected.

    Please test submit the form again using another browser. Or, you can use the incognito mode and see if it will work as expected there. If it works, you can go ahead and clear your browser cache and cookies.

    Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.
