Can I have a reminder sent with this form?

    Hi,

I assume it would be an email.

The form is KofC1274 Event Volunteer Sign-Up form and it is a card type form.

Can I schedule the reminder for a certain time period before the event starts?

    Thanks!

I only see how to set a reminder for someone to fill out the form. Not after the form has been filled out.

You can make use of the autoresponder email's SEND LATER feature. Here's how:

1.) There must be two autoresponder email to set up

2.) The first autoresponder will be sent after the user submitted the form so set it to be sent 'RIGHT AWAY' - this is the default:

    1641669393 61d9e31172c25 Screenshot 10

3.) Then the second autoresponder should be sent later before the event starts, so craft a different email message for this one and set it to be sent later:

    And that's it! Here's a complete guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/535-send-emails-later-using-autoresponder-email/.

Please try that and see if that'll work for you.

But how do I know which date field is which?

The form is Kofc #1274 Event Sign-Up Form. There are multiple date fields.

I selected "date13" for the auto-reponder. I think I set up the conditions correctly but cannot tell by the emails I receive. How would I know that it is a reminder email?

Here is what I did. If I enter in today's or yesterdays date in "Date reminder to be sent" field, not sure it is working:

    Hello there,

I have checked your form KofC1274 Event Volunteer Sign Up and saw that you only set up one Autoresponder email.

If you need an example, we have here a sample form https://www.jotform.com/82173057923963/

You can clone this one and change it based on your description.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

That sample you supplied is just three cards, with one date field. It basically does nothing. You need to check that form. Maybe you supplied the wrong one. It does nothing that my form does.

Yes, one autoresponder for "KofC #1274 Volunteer Event Sign-Up Form". Is that the one you reviewed?

Do I need more than one autoresponder to do what I want to do?

Here is a link to what I want to do:

Send Emails Later Using Autoresponder Email (jotform.com)

Please study that article before getting back to me, or have someone read my case.

Before anyone gets back to me on my/this support topic, please read this thread from top to bottom and especially my post two threads up that starts off with "But how do I know which date field is which?"

    Thank you.

    Hello again,

My apologies. I have pasted a different link. This is the link of your cloned form Clone of KofC #1274 Volunteer Event Sign-Up Form

As advised by my colleague, you have to set up to Autoresponder.

    Hi,

I will check out the clone to see what changes you did.

One thing that did not happen is that I did not receive a reminder email today as was set up. I will try the cloned form and see if it works. Otherwise, I will start a new support question(s) as I also need to know how to make the title of the email stand out so people know that it is a reminder email and not a confirmation email.

    Thanks.

I cannot see the build for what Carrisa did. It is not in my library.

What does the 2nd Autoresponder do? What do both of them do?

Is my calculation correct? I did not set it up the way the JotForm example did because I wanted the user to pick when they wanted to be reminded instead of "hard-coding" date +7 days or whatever. Sometimes people sign up for events at the last minute so setting up a certain amount of days for a reminder will not work and may have expired after the event already took place.

    Hi,

I am assuming that you already know how to create a Sender Email Later alert. For the question,

But how do I know which date field is which?

Here's a screencast on how to find the date field name:

    1641750817 61db2121673ef aca2242f Screenshot 10

This is just a demo form:

    1641751162 61db227a696f1 acq212dasd Screenshot 21

Is that what you want to achieve? Unfortunately, this won't work for past dates. You need to open the Date field properties window and disable the Past option. Please check the limit option so you can disable other dates and just focus on the Start Date and End Date feature. In this way, the user will not play around or make mistakes with the Date field reminder email.

    1641751368 61db234808ab1 adf123sad Screenshot 32

If you want a calculation date field, for example, I registered today and you want to send the reminder email +3 days, I think this is also possible. Is that what you want to achieve?

What does the 2nd Autoresponder do? What do both of them do?

I recommend one instant autoresponder for a confirmation email that the form was submitted properly. The other autoresponder email will be the reminder email that the user picks the date or calculation/condition when you want to send the reminder email.

If I missed a question or if I misunderstood the issue, please let us know.

    Okay Carrisa. Thanks.

How do I view the settings tab so I can see what you did for the 2nd autoresponder?

    Hi Vincent (?),

I have a date on the form with the caption "Date to be reminded" which has a calculation to move it to "Date reminder to be sent" (date13).

So, I have the date the reminder is to be sent. I now need to set up an email to be sent on that date (hopefully with a title that makes it obvious that this is a reminder email and not a confirmation email).

I don't need to do a date+3 calculation since I already have the user entered date value.

How would I set up an autoresponder for this reminder date entered by the user and moved to date13?

I have unchecked "Past Dates". Thanks for that.

By the way, I entered in an event with the clone form that Carrisa set up Clone of KofC #1274 Volunteer Event Sign-Up Form , and did not receive any emails so far (confirmation or reminder). I picked event date 01-09-2022, reminder date the same.

I also now see that the grid in the first card is not showing all the records. I guess I will try recreating it or inserting new iFrame code.

    Thanks

To clarify, do you mean you no longer need date13 and would like to use date12 instead?

    1641772117 61db7455ae724 Screenshot 10

If so, you can just update the send later settings to use date12 instead of date13:

    1641772175 61db748fc89db Screenshot 21

I also now see that the grid in the first card is not showing all the records. I guess I will try recreating it or inserting new iFrame code.

This is showing perfectly fine on my end (incognito and different browsers):

    1641772229 61db74c5deb15 Screenshot 32

So I guess you have recreated or updated the iframe embed widget.

No, I think date13 is the date I want to use in autoresponders. It should be the date the reminder is going to be sent (hopefully). It is equal to the "date to be reminded". I don't know why I did a calculation and moved it's value to date13! I guess I could have just used the date the user entered.
