Form Builder: Import Questions from CSV

I'd really like to have a dynamic form which will import questions from a csv into the same Jotform module.

I have seen the import data from CSV, but this is to pre-populate answers, I don't want to do that.. I simply want a quick/easy way to adjust the questions in a form without having to rebuild (reinsert) new questions onto the same Jotform "template."

I have read this is not possible, but is there something close? Like, in the Form Builder section, can it create questions and multiple choice answers drawn from a csv file?

    Something like:

    Column A = Question

    Column B = Answer A

    Column C = Answer B

    Column D = Answer C

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello sdpcmedics,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. If you can convert your CSV file into a Fillable PDF and format it accordingly, you may be able to use SmartPDF to convert the PDF into a new form, generating questions automatically. But importing questions from CSV file into an existing form is currently not possible.

While this feature you're looking for isn't available at Jotform right now. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know. Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

It's been a couple years now... Has this feature been worked on, reviewed... or any plans to implement it? A PDF form defeats the purpose of a dynamic Jotform driven mechanism. But - it would add HUGE benefits for those who want to automate and quickly make major changes to forms already in use!

    Thanks!

    Hi sdpcmedics,

Thanks for getting back to us. I really do understand how upsetting this is. There haven’t been any updates yet. I know that it’s taking some time to provide the feature that you want, and that is very stressful. I’ve marked this as a Priority and reached out to our Developers again. As of now, the only feature that we have is to convert a PDF file to our Smart PDF form. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

In the meantime, let us know if you have any other questions.

Since Google forms allows for generation of a form directly from Sheets... is it possible that I could use a double migration - create my spreadsheet in Sheets, then generate the Google form.. then use your Google Form migration tool.. and it might result with a Jotform I can then use?

What limitations does Jotform have in migrating Google forms? Sorry.. I don't see a Jotform reference page on the technical details of the import. By that I mean, would a Jotform generated form from a Google form be limited in some way?

Thank you for the quick reply!

    Hi SDPCM,

Yes, you can surely use that option by using the Google Migration tool. You can check the detailed steps on that process here. If you face any issues, let us know. After migration, there won't be any limitation to use the forms. Let us know if you have any further questions.
