Hi we have a date time set to current on our form, and timezone is set correctly.

When filling the form it shows correctly, yet the PDF sent has the wrong time, and time in the reocrd is incorrect sometimes its behind and other times ahead. This is one form its happening, but there are others also.

Here are two submission ID with the issue.

5359529437412860402 says 7:35am but was submitted at 9:03 am

5359512557411749659 says 10:11am but was submitted at 8:34 am

I followed other threads on this but could not find a solution can you please advise?

    Hello BVS_Safety,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Please note that the current date and time on the Date Picker field do not come from the set timezone of the Jotform account. It is supposed to come from the user's machine who is filling up the form. See the image below:

That's it. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for taking a look. These submissions were made on mobile devices which displayed the correct time of submission. But then once saved, the PDF emailed back showed a different time, that is not consistently out. Some are before the time submitted and some after.

    Hi BVS_Safety,

I cloned your form and did a test submission using a mobile device but the PDF attachment still shows the correct time (local time on the device).

Can you please try to hide the existing Date and Time field on your form and add a new one instead to see if the issue persists? Also, in case need to, can we do a test submission on your actual form?

Yes you can submit a test submission on the actual form. I'll try the hide action.

    Hi BVS_Safety,

I have submitted a test submission using my mobile device, and I can see the correct local time on my phone reflected on the attached submission's PDF report. Here's a screenshot of the attached PDF document:

Can you please test the form on your end to confirm it's fixed?

I see your test entry. But its still happening. See attached. Even though phone is set to correct time and it displays correctly when submitted.

Now shows a date time into the future.

The test you did was emailed through at 12:09pm but time shows as 2:07pm

    Hi BVS_Safety,

I have also checked your form, and I can see that you are referring to the time difference between the submission's time and the date and the timestamp in the Date Picker field.

Currently, the account's timezone is set to America/Edmonton timezone. Can you verify if your time is the actual time you have where you are currently located? You can check the current time on this page for America/Edmonton: https://www.zeitverschiebung.net/en/timezone/america--edmonton.

As mentioned by my colleague, the submission date is based on the account's timezone, and the Date Picker field is based on the device used by the form respondent. You may check or update the timezone on your account through the settings page: How to Change Submission Date to a Different Format and Timezone. The time difference could be due to the timezone on your account, and the timezone set up on the devices of the form respondents.

Looking forward to your response, please let me know if I missed anything. Thank you.

Yes the time zone of submissions where the phones are located is also America/Edmonton

    Hello there,

Please allow me some time to check on this and get back to you with relevant information.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for waiting.

I understand that your submitted time and the date field's time are not showing consistently. I did some tests and it appears that the issue is with the date field not updating time in real time.

So, if your user opened the form at 6:28 AM but then clicked submit by 7AM, the submitted time will be 7AM and the date picker's time will be 6:28 AM. I checked but the option for the date picker to update the time in real time is not yet available.

I've gone ahead and escalated a feature request to our Developer Team. When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.
