Hi!
I'd like to calculate the number of identical answers on my form.
Scenario:
There are 20 questions where the user scores themselves (scale of 1 to 5) for each question (from a drop down of constrained values)
Is there a way that JotForm can tally up the number of responses that were 1s, 2s, 3s etc?
So at the end (depending on how the person scored themselves, they can see the total number of each selection?

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. To display the selections made on your drop down you can add a Number element on your form to show the Results:
Then you can create a condition on your form to copy the selection to the Result field. You can follow the steps here on how to copy field values.
See sample conditional logic below:
See cloned form here. You can also clone this form and edit to your preference. To clone the form, follow the steps here.
Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi! Thank you--I think I am following, however this just shows all the numbers in a row in the result box (and adds a bunch of "0" to the end):
What I'm wanting to display (using the sample above & what's in the results box) is that this person selected:
# of 5s = 3
# of 4s = 5
# 0f 3s = 4
# of 2s = 1
# of 1s = 3
So that it's basically doing the response tallying for them and they can see that they answered mostly 5s & 4s.
My guess is that its a combination of hidden fields to calculate a result?

Hello Jennifer,
Thanks for getting back to Jotform Support and for the additional information. I will need a bit of time to check on this and run a series of tests on how can this be accomplished or if this is possible. As soon as we came up with a solution, I will revisit this thread to inform you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Jennifer,
Thank you for waiting, I appreciate it much. If you haven't started using your form in live, we would recommend you clone the one that we made and add some updates. Here is the URL for the cloned form that we made: https://www.jotform.com/230296961701962
For each of the questions, we turned on calculation values like in the screenshot below:
Then there's a hidden Form Calculation widget that adds them all together 10,000,000,000.
We added 5 Substring widgets that take a part of the combined value
There are 5 Form Calculation widgets that take the substring value, and turn it into numbers.
So for your own conditions, if you want to check how many questions were answered as 5, then can use the Form Calculation widget called "5s". Basically, the combined field works like this:
Give it a try and let us know if you have other questions.

When I go to clone this form, it says I don’t have authorization. 😊
I’d like to clone it so I can see how it’s built.
