Prefilling your Form and Generating Custom Link.

Is it possible to enable pre-filling of the form via the link?

For example, to enter the name and email address of the recipient of the email already in the form?

To do this, jotform would probably have to generate individual links adapted to the recipient.

    Hi Roland,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, there are multiple ways to Prefill a form. You can refill the form manually, from another form, and many other options. Prefilling your form using another form is easy and you can get a custom link after creating the prefill. Let me show you how:

    1. Open your form in Form Builder, then click on Publish in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    2. Now, click on Prefill in the menu on the left side of the screen, and then select Form Prefill.
    3. Select the form that you want to prefill from, then choose the fields you want to take data from.
    4. Click on Save Settings, and that’s it.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any other help.

    Hi Afzal,

Thank you! That was a very helpful answer.

One more thing about the rest of the process.
I used the prefill from a table in my testing and then sent test invitation emails.
Is there any way to change the invitation email template? For example, the template contains my account's email address, which really shouldn't occur in the context of this form, and furthermore, contrary to the form configuration, the invitation was created in English.

    Thanks,
    Roland

    Hi Roland,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, the invitation emails are not editable; however, you can copy the pre-fill link, and send it from your own email, if you want to send the invitation email with a customized layout and content. Let me walk through the steps:

    • Click on the three dots and choose Copy URL to copy the pre-fill link.

We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

    Hi Carlo,

Thank you very much for the information. I understand. I even found a better option! If you check "Select all", there is a download function that provides the email addresses and the personalised links as a CSV file. This way I can create my own bulk email with the individual content.

Now I have the next question, which I could not find directly in the application and the help content (it is already slightly off-topic):
Is there a way to import (or upload) data into tables so that you do not have to enter all recipients manually?

    Thanks,
    Roland

    Already found! :)
You just have to choose the right entry point via "MyTables". In the area of a form design, the button with the function "Create table" is not available.

    Thanks,
    Roland
