How to create a Unique ID, and connect the email field to Asana integration

Can you add a Unique ID into the Asana Integration? There is no field for this or any sort of ID in the options. Is there also a way to add the submitters email address into the integration? I have tried adding Task Followers matched to Your Email (the submitters email) but nothing populates when the task is imported into Asana.

    Hi David,

Thanks for waiting patiently. You can create a Unique ID using the Short Text element. Let me show you how:

    • In Form Builder, add a Short Text element to your form.

    • In your Asana integration, map the Unique ID to the Take Notes field in Asana.
    • Then click on Complete Integration.

As for your email field, try to map it to the Task Name in the Asana to see if it works. Removing and reconnecting the integration may also help refresh the connection in your form. If the issue persists, you can send us the form you're working on, so we can test it.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

We have added the Unique ID through the widget as we need this to be an autogenerated number, nothing something that is input by the person filling out the form.

So how can we get this Unique ID widget to map with the Asana integration?

    Hello David,

Thanks for patiently waiting. As I tested this in my sample form, the Unique ID Widget can be directly mapped in the Task Name, and the same field type also matched the Email element in your form.

We have limited access to Asana, so I couldn't attempt a different custom field, but they perfectly match the Task Name. You are able to work with mapping the Unique ID to the Task Name and email element in your Task Note, or vice versa.

Give it a try and reach out again if you have any other questions.

Thank, but we need the task note to include comments submitted on the ticket. Is it possible to have more than one mapped for each field? For example, we could have Unique ID as the name, and the 'what is your issue related to' as a tag for the ticket, but we also need our urgency tag applied... see below our current set up:

    Hi David,

Thanks for patiently waiting. If I understood you correctly, you want to link multiple form fields with Asana's Task Notes. If this is the case, this can be possible by creating a condition that merges multiple form fields into one long text field and mapping this file to the task note. Let me show you how:

    1.  In your Form, click on the  + Add Form Element button in the top left corner.
    2.  Under the Basic tab, search for the Long Text element and click on it to add the element to the form.
    3.  Next, click on the Gear icon on the right side of the element to open its Properties
    4.  Click on the Advanced tab scroll down until the Hide field and toggle it to ON.

    1.  In Form Builder, in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Settings.
    2.  Click on the condition on the left side of the screen.
    3.  Next, select the field Update/Calculate Condition.
