How to Change the Styles of the Answers in the Original PDF Document

December 2, 2021

Jotform’s Smart PDF Forms now allows you to customize the alignment, size, font type, and colors of the text fields in the Original PDF document. You can also change the styling of the Multiple and Single Choices fields.

To start customizing, you have to open the PDF Editor. Here are the steps:

  1. In the Form Builder, toggle the quick access menu on the upper left of the page.
  2. Click the PDF Editor title.
  1. In the PDF Editor, the Original PDF is automatically displayed. Open the Original PDF Settings panel by clicking the layout settings icon on the upper right side of the page:

In the Original PDF Settings panel you have three sections:

  • Text Style – with Font Family, Font Size, Format, Color, and Alignment options.
  • Multiple Choice Style – with Color and Checkbox design options (Checked, Stroke, Filled).
  • Single Choice Style – with Color and Radio Button design options (Checked, Stroke, Filled).

The default styling of the Original PDF, especially for the text is dark and left-aligned.

The styling is pretty much straightforward. Once you are done with the changes, you will have to click the Apply Changes button at the bottom of the style options.

Here’s an example of the above demo document with the texts being centered and colored green…

and the Multiple Choice Style set from “Stroke” to “Filled”.
