    Hi,

I added the ability to upload an image or PDF to one of our forms but I am unable to download the files in the proper format. When I right-click to download they're saved to my laptop as html web pages.

    Hi seak1956,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I checked the form and there are no upload fields. Could you share where the files are being uploaded?

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

    Hi seak1956,

I checked and see that your form is encrypted. I'm afraid there is no option to download the uploaded file, you can only view it in the tables.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi seak1956,

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, you will still not be able to download the attached files of the previous submissions after you unencrypted the form. But, you will be able to download the attached file for the new submissions, since the form is unencrypted.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

    Hi seak1956,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. To stop our system from asking you to log in to see/download your submission attachments, we just need to disable the requirement to log in to View Uploaded Files. It's easy to do, but we'll need to do that on the Desktop version of Jotform because it's not available yet on the Jotform Mobile App. Let me walk you through it:

    1. Login to your Jotform account.
    2. Hover your mouse over your Avatar/Profile picture on the right side of the screen.
    3. In the dropdown, click on Settings, or click on this link to go directly to your Settings page.
    4. Now, go to the Security tab and uncheck the box next to Require Login to View Uploaded Files under the Privacy section.

That's it. Now, you won't have to log in to see/download files uploaded with your submissions. We also have a guide to help you learn How to Unrequire a Login to View Uploaded Files. If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of the error message you see on your end and we'll do a more in-depth investigation and work on finding a solution.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

    Hi seak1956,

Thanks for getting back to us. I understand how frustrating this is for you, and I’ll do my best to help you. Unfortunately, we are exactly not sure about the issue you are facing. Can you please share a screencast on how you are trying to download the image? You can use Loom or any other preferred option to share the screencast.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

    Hi seak1956,

Thanks for getting back to us. I can see that the form you are working on and the form link you have shared in this thread are different which was confusing. I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, and I ran into the same issue. When I looked at your form, I saw that you were using the Image Upload Preview widget to get the images from the users. Please note that it is a default behavior as the widget does not have a download option. If you collect images using the Image Upload Preview field, downloading those images is easy in Jotform Inbox. Let me show you how it is done:

    1. On your My Forms page, hover your mouse over your form and click on Inbox on the right side of the page.
    2. In Jotform Inbox, click on the submission in the menu on the left.
    3. Right-click on the photo you want to download and select Open image in New Tab.
    4. Your image should download right away. If it doesn't, click on the opened tab, right-click on the image and select Save Image As.

If you collect images using the File Upload field, you can also download the images as attachments. This guide will show you how to do that.

Reach out to us again if you need any more help.
