Hi Travis,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. To clarify, do you want to tip the field and calculate it in payment? Or do you want to add a simple field to display tips? Can you explain a bit more about the issue, so I can get a better idea of what's happening? I'll help you do it:
- In Form Builder, go to your My Forms page.
- On the left side of the page, click on Create Form.
- Click on the Add Form Element menu on the left side of the page.
- Under the Basic tab, scroll down the list, choose the options that you want, and then drag and drop them onto your form.
Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution.

Hi Travis,
Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, since you are using a Product List, it is not possible to use a customizable amount in the products. A workaround is to use the Quantity feature on the Tip product and set the price to $1. Let me show you how:
- Select the Product List element and click the Shopping Cart icon.
- Hover your mouse over the Tip product and click the Pencil icon to edit.
- Go to the Options tab.
- Click the + Add button in the Add a Quantity Selector section.
- Select the Text Box in the 'Show Quantity on the Form as' dropdown and set the Label to Amount.
- Click the Save Quantity button.
- Hover your mouse over the created Product Option and click the Gear icon.
- Select the Delete option.
- Go to the Basic tab.
- Set the Price to 1.00 and click Save.
Sample Result:
You can test my demo form or clone it to see the changes made in the cloned form.
Give it a try, and let us know how it goes.
- Select the Product List element and click the Shopping Cart icon.

Unfortunately this will not work. What product would allow us to have a custom tip line?

Hi Travis,
Since you are using the Sell products option as your payment type, I'm afraid it is not possible to add an option in your form where the user can add a custom tip box. An alternative would be to delete your product list and list your items using regular fields:
1. List your products using regular fields such as multiple choice fields.
2. Assign a calculation value for each product. The value should be the price of the product.
3. Add a form calculation widget that will calculate the total of the selected products.
4. Add a number field that will hold the user's input for the Tip amount.
5. Add another form calculation field that will sum up the product cost and the tip.
6. Lastly, you can then pass this total into your payment field.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
