I went into settings and changed the time zone from New York (ET) to Chicago (CT), but it keeps defaulting to ET.

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I've tested in two separate accounts and the change on the timezones are saved correctly. Try to log out from your account and the clear the browser cache and site data. You should log out to make sure that any saved cache related to Jotform will be wiped out and you'll start the browser fresh. Then log back and then to update the timezone again.

Give it a try and keep us updated if you have any other questions.

I cleared the cache and cookies. I changed the time zone in "settings". It still lists the time zone there as "Chicago". However, the two schedulers I have created list "New York" as the time zone. There is an option to change it right under the scheduling time slots. When I change that to Chicago and then go into the time slots to begin at 8am CT, rather than 7am CT, it will then default to New York time.

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. It seems the Appointment element is still following your old time zone. I went ahead and cleared your form caches to refresh the form. Can you go ahead and try to change the default time zone on the Appointment element and let us know how it goes? If the same thing happens again, we'll investigate it more to see if we can figure out what's going on.

Keep us updated and let us know if you need any more help.

The time zone is still defaulting to Eastern time.

Here's what I've been doing: I go into the appointment element and change the time zone to Chicago. Then I go into the time slots and change the first appointment time from 7am to 8am. That is when the program defaults to NY. I even tried deleting a day and re-inputting the time slot parameters. It reverted after that, too.

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. I cloned your form and tested it to see if I could replicate the issue, but everything was working properly. Check out the screencast below to see my results:

Can you try it again and see how it goes? If you run into the same issue again, let us know, and we'll do some more testing to see what's going on. I've cleared your form cache as a precaution. Also, you can clear browser caches or try to fill out the form on another browser. If the issue persists, you may take a screenshot of the console report and send it to us. Here's a guide on How to Get a Console Report from Most Common Browsers.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I'm able to change the time zone and it stays that way on all three days. But now that it lists Chicago, the days start at 7am. They need to start at 8:00am. But when I go into the widget and revise the start time to 8:00am, that is when it reverts to NY time. Thanks.

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. I’m sorry that this is happening. I cloned your form to test it, and I easily replicated the issue. There is an easy fix for this, we just need to make sure that the correct Time Zone is set and you enable Lock the Time Zone feature. Let me show you how:

    1. In Form Builder page, select Build located at the top orange menu bar.
    2. Scroll down to the Appointment Field and select Properties(Gear Icon).
    3. Under Advance, set the correct Default Time Zone to America/Chicago.
    4. Finally, enable Lock the Time Zone feature and make sure correct Intervals are set. Account Time Zone change not saving Image 1 Screenshot 20

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

That worked! Thanks so much! I was able to change the time zone on a scheduler that is not yet in use.

So, now my question is this... What will happen to the timeslots already taken if I were to change the time zone in a scheduler that already has entries? For this scheduler, when I created the meeting confirmation email I was careful to list "NOTE: The timing listed below is that of Houston, TX, which is in the Central Time Zone."

What happens if I change the time zone on this scheduler?

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. If you change the time zone in the Appointment field that already has submission entries, the timeslots will be automatically updated to reflect the new time zone. This means that existing timeslots will remain unchanged in terms of the actual time they represent, but will be shown in the new time zone you have chosen.

Let us know if you need any more help.

So, if the time slot of 9:30am ET has been taken, if I change the scheduler to CT, the taken time slot will still read 9:30am and won't be listed in the equivalent CT time which would be 8:30am. Correct?

No, that didn't work. The times reflected were 1 hour earlier than originally listed.

    Hello Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. Can you share with us the timeszone you're using and the submission ID that has the delayed time? Also, It would help us to understand what’s happening if you could take a screenshot and send it to us. We have a guide here explaining how to do that.

As soon as we hear back from you, we can move forward with a solution.

    Hello Holly,

Thanks for getting back to us. I apologize for the confusion. If a slot is taken in the ET timezone, and you lock the timezone to Chicago time after that slot has been taken in the ET timezone, the taken slot will be converted into the new time zone which is Chicago.

For example, the 11 AM to 11:30 AM slot was taken in the ET timezone, when you change the timezone to Chicago, it will gray out the 10 AM to 10:30 AM time slot. This is to retain the accuracy of the appointment time based on the timezone that the user have set when filling out the form.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help.
