I have another question according the offline function: If I am offline (without internet connection) and click "Save" (save and continue later function), the form gets closed and all data are lost without any warning!? What have I done wrong??

    Hi there,

I tested this with one of my forms using the JotForm mobile app, and the data are still there when I save my progress.

Could you please try reinstalling the app, and see if that'll at least help with the issue?

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Hi, I recorded a short video where I showed the problem - please see from 2:50 min where I showed it in offline mode:

    (I also reinstalled the app).

    Greetings!

Please note that the save and continue later will not work if you do not have internet access. The form needs to be saved online to receive an email link which you can open if you want to continue the form.

However, you can submit the form without internet access.

You can try this workaround - Try submitting incomplete submissions offline and when you go online, you can edit your submission.

Here are the links where you can find more information:

I understand - the workaround to submit incomplete submissions instead of saving is okay, but the danger is high that date get lost. Because there isn't any warning after changing the submission, if I go back or click on "SAVE". Do you understand the problem?

It is very dangerous if users can click on "SAVE" and all changes are LOST WITHOUT ANY WARNING. In my opinion we have to find a solution to prevent this data loss. (i.e. "Attention, OFFLINE it is not possible to save and continue ... - please click on SUBMIT ...!" ) You you have an idea or is this a topic for the developers??

    Hello,

As my colleague mentioned, warnings from JotForm will not work if you are offline or Jotform can't really detect that you've lost your connection.

However, when you are offline- you are only getting a warning that you lost you internet connection.

Unfortunately, what you are to do is impossible.

I am hoping for your understanding.

If the user clicks on "SAVE" and ALL CHANGES ARE LOST without any warning, this is really unsatisfactory - this is in my opinion a really bad user experience and very dangerous if important data are saved!

    Can you understand that?

I don't understand why it should not be possible to get a warning before data are lost - it is also possible before submitting the form - why should it not be possible when editing the submission?? Could you please check that with your colleagues / with your developers?

I look forward to find a satisfactory solution.

I totally understand your frustration, therefore, I have escalated this issue to our developers' team to further check this feature.

Hopefully, we will have this feature in the future so users won't lose any data when going offline.

We will update you in this thread if there will be an update but we cannot give you an estimated timeframe.

    Thanks again.

    Hi RiKoConsulting,

Thanks for waiting patiently. The Save and Continue Later feature is available on the Jotform Mobile App on both online and offline forms.

Reach out again if you need any other help.
