Having a big problem at the moment with my jotform. When I check my thankyou page in Google analytics, it says the referral source is jotform.. I want to know where these people came from before filling out the jotform on my website and making their way to the thankyou page. Any clues?

Perhaps the best way is to use the Get Referrer widget. This widget allows you to get the url that directed people to your form.

Let us know if we can assist you further.
    Thank you

This only reffers the location of the form, not the referral source

    Hi,

Please check this discussion thread. I think your current question is similar to it.

Check our colleague's suggestion on that thread on how to correct the referral source when using the Google Analytics in jotform.

Hope this help. Please inform us issue remains.

    Thanks.

Thanks for your reply but No, that's not the issue.

I want to know through wich referral the lead has subscribed.

    For example:

I see on my google analytics that between 5:00 and 5:59 a lead that landed on my site through ex. banner X has converted (has been send to the thank you page by submitting the details through the jotform)

Now i need to link that lead to that specific campaign (banner x)

Is there a way to add the referral link to the lead?

    Hope this is clear.

    thanks

    Thanks

    Hi,

Could it be because your just using the default thank you page of JotForm?

If you are using the JotForm thank you URL, this means all submissions are being processed on submit.jotform.com sub-domain.

Try using custom URL Thank you page and then include an override parameter like this

    ?utm_nooverride=1

Example, if your custom thank you URL is http://www.yoursite.com/thankyou.html, it'd become:

    http://www.yoursite.com/thankyou.html?utm_nooverride=1

    Check this visual guide:

Referral source of the form using Google Analytics Image 1 Screenshot 30

Referral source of the form using Google Analytics Image 2 Screenshot 41

Please try this if it makes the difference.

Also, can you please clarify what actually was the link to the specific banner(x)?

You did not mention what was the link that was generated.

    Thanks.

    No,

i use a custom TY page, not the JT page.  i'll try to add the override paramter to see if it works.

"Also, can you please clarify what actually was the link to the specific banner(x)?

There are no links generated. Dont know what you mean. I make  the campagin tracking links with the Google Analytics URL Builder tool something like: http://mysite.com?utm_source=ebay&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=xtz

    thx

    Thank you for the clarification.
It seems that adding "?utm_nooverride=1" to the end of the thank you page custom URL fixes the issue. You can see here more details.

Also how many different sources do you have? Perhaps the "use a single form in different websites" solution could work as a workaround if he nooverride parameter fails.
Let us know if the problem persists.
