Limit booking per day using the same device

    Is it possible to have 1 reservation per device - the device cannot be used for booking on the same date??? How?

    Hi Shell_TFC,

    Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. Unfortunately, it is not possible to limit users to book on the same date using the same device although we have Unique Submission feature that could meet your requirement. This feature has three options:

    • No Check — This option means the form will not check for duplicate submissions.
    • Check Cookies Only — This option is also called Loose Check. When you choose this option, the form will check whether the submission came from the same browser. It uses cookies stored in the user’s browser storage to verify duplicate submissions.
    • Check Cookies and IP — This is also called Strict Check, which means the form checks whether the submission came from the same browser and IP Address.

    You may also want to consider our Unique Field. It can allow you to set limits based on an answer from a specific field.

    Now, if you want your users to resubmit in the next few days, you will need to visit your tables and delete the submission data in the Trash folder. You can also automate this process through our Auto Delete Submission Feature.

    regarding on this one, is it possible to book their parking with same browser with different day?

    Hi Shell_TFC,

    Thanks for getting back to us. Assuming that you have the unique submissions setting enabled on your form, it is then possible to book their parking using the same browser that they used on a different day, provided that you have deleted the submission that identifies their uniqueness.

    The basic principle behind the Unique Submission setting is that it looks up to your existing submissions and if it finds that an answer intended to be submitted already exists in the form's submissions table, it prohibits the submission. So following the idea that you delete the existing submissions, the user should be allowed to submit the data that he previously submitted but has already been deleted.

    Perhaps you can try Christy's suggestion from this thread. to make the answer unique as the unique question look-up would be dependent on the parameter of the date and the slot. This way, you don't have to delete the submissions that contain a unique submission reference.
