My QR code says it is deactivated

I created a Vacation Bible School (VBS) jotform so that the parents at our church program can register their children to attend in June of 2024. However, the first QR code we used on our handout says it is deactivated. So I went in and clicked on the QR code and it generated a new one. Does this mean that the old one is no longer usable?

    Hi Ginger,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The form's QR Code will not be changed unless you create a custom form URL which is what I see you already did on your form. Did you generate that QR code before setting up the custom URL?

Let us know if there's anything else we can help.

I created that form last year I believe, but updated it to use it again this year. So I am not what I did. So I guess my question is, is the first QR code that I created for this VBS link deactivated for good or is there a way to reactivate it?

    Hi Ginger,

Thanks for getting back to us. What did you update on this form? Can you send us some screenshots of the handout with the first QR code and the second QR code, so I can look into this further? This guide will show you how to do that.

I don't have the form with me, it is at my church currently.

However, I did exactly as your guide indicates to do on making a QR code. The first time I made the QR code it worked great. We tested it and then put it on a flyer.

Then a few days later, we tested it again and it indicated that it was deactivated.

So I quickly went in and did the same procedure to make a new QR code. That one works and parents are using it. However, all of my old flyers have the old QR code on it.

    Hi Ginger,

Thanks for getting back to us. Can you share an image of the old QR code that does not work? It will help us to better understand the issue and check if we can still fix it. Check out this guide about how to send an image to our Support Forum.

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.
