Also is it possible to have the form request an email address but have it automatically default enter the email recipients address but allow them to change the default address?

    Hello ewsulouff,

You can manually prefill an email field and in invite the user to fill it up. As long as the field is not set to Read-only, then the user can still edit it.

    • Open your form in Form Builder, and in the orange navigation bar at the top of the screen, click on Publish.
    • In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Prefill.
    • Select Manual Prefill and then enter the user's data.
    • You can send an invitation via email or create a link for the prefilled form.

Check out our guide on How to Prefill Form Fields With Data You Provide with Manual Prefill. We have many prefilling options that you can use. For a detailed guide, please see our guide about What Is Jotform Prefill and How Does It Work?

Thanks for your reply but I guess I wasn't clear on my need.
I have a form that I need replies from customers.
It will be bulk emailed to a group of customers.
There should be a mandatory "Email addr" field on the form so we know who
    in the group repied.
Is there a way to have the recipients email address automatically fill in
the "email addr" field on the form?
When emails are "opened" in a mail client, the "to: address" is known by
    the client.
Is there a way to "harvest / scrape" that to: address and automatically
    fill in on the form?

    Hello ewsulouff,

Thank you for getting back to us. That is actually possible using URL parameters in the form URL, but still you will need to manually encode the parameters in the URL with the email address where the form will be sent. The link below is an example form URL with URL parameter.

    https://form.jotform.com/222083545465053?email=test@gmail.com

However, it may only be applicable if you're sending the form individually and not in bulked. Since the form will be emailed in bulk, I'm afraid what you're trying to accomplish is possible. In addition to that, it is also not possible to scrape the "to: address" and pass it onto the form's email field.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
