Using the data from the previous table to pre-fill form fields

Is it possible to have the process automated whereby entering a response to "Field 1" on a form will populate "Fields 1- 9" based off previous responses in the 'tables' for the form?

Thanks for contacting Jotform Support. Unfortunately, it's not possible to fetch the data from a Table based on the response in a Field. If you recommend this feature, I can forward your request to our development team.

Although that feature isn’t available yet, we have the Spreadsheet to Form widget that allows you to upload an external spreadsheet to your form and use the values on the spreadsheet to prepopulate your form. You can download Form Submissions as Excel and upload the Excel file to the widget. Values are automatically populated when the value entered matches the unique value of the spreadsheet. This widget supports full name, email, phone number, scale, single and multiple choice, short and long text entries, drop-down, and rating values. Thankyou very much for your response, this is helpful in part but would require ongoing maintenance (download past responses in excel and upload excel to form) on a regular basis to keep the autofill up to date.

I would definitely recommend adding a feature to have autofills based on past form fills.

We use jotform internally to keep records of site visits undertaken by employees. A chunk of the information we enter in a form is the same for each visit to a given site. Each site has an identifying job number that could be used to autofill the repetitive information. This would certainly be a helpful jotform feature for us.

Thanks for getting back to us. With Form Prefill, you can fetch the existing data from the selected form to create the Prefill URLs. It will particularly fetch the data from the main submissions tables. If ever you want to fetch the data from the other tabs of the selected form, set up the Tables Prefill instead. Check out the steps below to see how it's done:

1. In Form Builder, click on Publish at the top orange bar.
2. Click on Prefill in the left panel.
3. Select Form Prefill.
4. Select the form fields that you need, then create the Prefill links as you can see in the screencast below:

I strongly support the feature request of RSEng123 because managing the source data would be far easier than with the Spreadsheet to form which I also currently use. Maintenance of this file is cumbersome, repetitive and error prone when you have to mange new data every day.

Just adding this new data to a form would be so easier and elegant, more Jotform in fact ;-)

We use jotform in our schools to manage certifications for teachers after attending a technology course. Each course provided has its own ID, Date, Name, Location. This information is identical to all attendees. After filling the form, teachers receive an e-mail with their pdf certification attached, with signature and all other relevant information.

Hope to meet this feature in a future and close release of Jotform.
